The 1968 - 71 year group

Thanks to Hazel Rider (now Lumb) we have this photograph (below) of the 68 -71 Geography group. Hazel seems to have forgotten some of the names, so we would welcome further advice.

Hazel writes, "I was in the geography department 1968-71. Does anyone else remember the film of that fieldtrip to Whitby with a little figure disappearing up the hill and into the bushes? I don't know what happened to the film but I presume that the geography department kept it for as long as they thought that it was relevant." The figure, of course, was Hazel?. but where was she going?

An important part of the college social scene during the early 1970s was the famous Film Society. Dave Weedon reminds us of the "... hoo-ha when "Danish Blue" was stolen by parties still unknown". Dave was president of the Film Society at the time.

So what did happen to the film?

Amongst the films seen in October 1971 were 'Goldfinger', Zefferrelli's 'Romeo and Juliet' (costing 10p for Film Soc. Members, 15p for the rest), 'Tom Jones' and 'Psycho'. At the time 'On the buses' was showing at the A.B.C. in Norwich; how many sneaked out to see it I wonder?

Watch out for an article about Film Society, by Dave, coming soon.
Memories from the 1968 to 71 cohort are awaited?
